Wellness (Counseling Services)

The Wellness Program supports students’ social-emotional well-being, mental health, and overall development to ensure they are prepared to learn and thrive in school and beyond. Through counseling, social-emotional learning (SEL), crisis response, and family partnership, our team provides a comprehensive and proactive system of support that includes prevention, early intervention, and responsive services for all students.
 

Counseling & Support Services

Our counseling team includes:
  • Two full-time general education counselors providing early intervention and student support
  • A Clinical Counseling Supervisor/ERMHS provider supporting students with intensive mental health needs
  • A School Psychologist providing assessment, counseling, and crisis response
 
Together, the team provides:
  • Individual and group counseling
  • Crisis intervention and response
  • Early intervention support
  • Counseling services for students with IEPs
  • Collaboration with staff and families
 

Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Programs

Research-based SEL instruction contributes to improved academic performance, positive behavior, and stronger mental health, while fostering a safe and supportive school environment.
 
We provide structured SEL instruction to help students build essential life skills, including:
  • Self-awareness
  • Self-management
  • Social awareness
  • Relationship skills
  • Responsible decision-making
District SEL Programs:
  • Grades TK–5: Kimochis – Builds emotional vocabulary, empathy, and positive communication
  • Grades 6–8: Wayfinder – Focuses on purpose, goal-setting, and identity development
 
These programs support students in:
  • Understanding and managing emotions
  • Building positive relationships
  • Making thoughtful and responsible choices

School Climate & SEL Data (Kelvin)

We utilize Kelvin, a school climate and SEL assessment platform, to gather real-time feedback from:
  • Students
  • Staff
  • Families
 
This data helps us:
  • Monitor school climate and student well-being
  • Identify areas of need
  • Guide decision-making and program improvement
  • Strengthen a culture of belonging and safety

Crisis Response & Mental Health Support

Our team provides timely and responsive support during student crises, including:
  • Risk assessments
  • Short-term stabilization and counseling
  • Coordination with families and outside agencies
  • Ongoing support for students in need

Family Partnership

We work closely with families to support student well-being by:
  • Communicating regularly
  • Providing resources and referrals
  • Partnering in intervention and support plans
