At SMCSD, the Student Services Department is responsible for the education of students with learning disabilities or unique cognitive or physical requirements who qualify for services through an Individual Education Program (IEP). This department offers a range of services and support in various educational settings, including district schools, alternative schools, and non-public schools, for students from Transitional Kinder (TK) up to 8th grade.

 

The array of services provided encompasses Specialized Academic Instruction, Speech-Language Therapy, Occupational and Physical Therapy, Assistive Technology, and Adaptive Physical Education. Additionally, the department provides mental health services, behavior intervention and assessment, and specialized services for students with visual, hearing, and Social Emotional Learning.
